T.H.O.T.S. got together in the beginning of August 2008; six young musicians, Vocals: Raheem Abdul-Rasheed, Guitar: Dylan Thomas Silk, Bass: Mthunzi Mchunu, Keyboard: Graeme Cavanagh, Turntables: Verdine Peterson, Drums: Roston Ramsunder, were drawn to each other to fuse and tell each of their stories through music. The diversity of sounds compiled alters the moods of all within audible range, with influences from Hip Hop, Rock, Reggae, Jazz and Soul.
The debut album, titled The Returns of the Book Thief, was released in December 2009. It was recorded through LYD Productions and is available nationwide at Rhythmic Beat and Look n Listen stores; and via the Internet - iTunes and Reverbnation.
Over the past 2 years, T.H.O.T.S. has performed countless shows across South Africa.
The biggest highlight so far was winning the Durex Ultimate Battle 2009/2010 final in JHB. 110 bands from all over South Africa took part in the prestigious competition and T.H.O.T.S. took home the prize and title in April 2010.
T.H.O.T.S is currently working on the second project titled To The Digital Forest, to be released in 2011, including a music video for the title track, filmed by Durban’s renowned film producer Matthew Nefdt.
